Knit a seed stitch party scarf, pattern included in post
Hello everyone, I posted a knitting tutorial video. I tried to share how I knit. I use a continental grip of the yarn and English style of knitting with my dominant hand which is my left hand. It may be easier for right-handed people to learn from the video. The video will be posted once I post my blog post.
In the video I make a swatch for my party scarf. Here is the
swatch. I used Red Heart Super Saver Bitty Stripes Pink Lemonade and Caron
Jumbo Peacock Variegated to make this swatch.
Then I have a few scarves and gators I’ve made from this
pattern. Here are the pictures along with what yarn I used to make them.
The pattern for the knit seed stitch party scarf is as
follows:
Size 15 knitting needles, 10 mm size, are used along with two yarns held
together. I used two variegated yarns for a dynamic effect. Then knit seed stitch is
used to create the pattern.
CO an odd number of stitches. For the swatch use 11 stitches.
For the gator, use 17 stitches. For the party scarf in multi colors use 19
stitches, For the pink and red party scarf use 21 stitches. CO stiches by
knitting each individual stitch on to the needle that holds the stitches to be
worked with the two variegated yarns of choice. I recommend one color way with
similar colors and one colorway with multiple colors. You can also use one solid
color and one variegated if you prefer.
Row 1: *k, p* k last stitch.
Rows 2 until the end of scarf: Repeat row one.
Last Row: BO knit wise. FO last stitch.
CO=Cast on
**=repeat across until the end
K=knit
P=purl
BO=Bind off
FO=Fasten off
I hope you enjoy this tutorial on how to make a party scarf.
Have a blessed day.
Love,
Jess
